DECEMBER 1

1989 - Unsuccessful coup  is staged against the Corazon Aquino government by the combined forces of RAM (Reform the AFP Movement) and the Nationalist Army of the Philippines (NAP) .

1913 - Assembly line mode of production is introduced by the Ford Motor Company, allowing the mass production of automobiles.


1955 - Afro-American Rosa Parks is arrested, sparking a 381-day boycott of the Montgomery (Alabama) bus system and leading to the 1956 US Supreme Court decision than bans segregation in public transportation.

1959 - A treaty establishing the continent of Antarctica as a scientific preserve and protected against any military activity is signed by 12 nations includng the United States. 


1999 -  The genetic code of the 33.5 million bps comprising human chromosome 22's euchromatic portion is released into the public domain.
