1945 - Guillermo Nakar, Future Filipino World War II anti-Japanese guerrilla leader, is born in Infanta, Quezon; Nakar would become a 14th Infantry battalion commander of the PhilippineForces during the American colonial period; during World War II, Nakar would form the first official guerrilla force designated by the colonial USAFFEE (United States Armed Forces in the Far East) as the 1st Guerrilla Regiment, but he would be captured by the Japanese forces; Nakar would be captured and executed by the Japanese, supposedly by beheading, because he will refuse to swear allegiance to the new colonial government, saying that "I cannot transfer my allegiance to the United States and my country"; in his honor, a town in Infanta, Quezon would be named after him--Gen. Nakar.
